For the costume scheme design, I found the sessions I had on object theatre and its power of imagination and effect it can have on creating and representing characters to be very eye opening. I researched and dissected the characters – what they were to represent in Elizabethan times and who they would be nowadays. My research was based on generations, who we identify ourselves with in today’s society, how different yet similar at the same time we are, how different generations perceive the same differently. The costumes needed to be contemporary to help support the story, but also not to overtake it. I used light, muted colours to contrast with the dark surroundings and to add a ghost-like feeling to the characters.
